The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to provincial immigration candidates in several draws which took place over the course of two weeks.
The province’s candidate selection process covered six immigration pathways, focusing on pre-identified priority sectors, healthcare workers, and addressing rural workforce shortages.
A total number of 295 invitations were issued through these draws.
Between the dates of April 29 and May 8, the AAIP conducted six draws of varying sizes and cut-off scores—with the lowest cut-off score seen being 51.
Two of Alberta’s draws focused on health care workers, issuing invitations through both its Express Entry and non-Express Entry-aligned Dedicated Health Care Pathways, reflecting the province’s continuing need to fill shortages in the health care industry.
Three draws, pulling from the general Express Entry pool, consisted of candidates in high-demand sectors or industries previously identified by Alberta.
Alberta’s priority sectors include agriculture, aviation, and construction.
Notably, this is the province’s first draw of the year targeting construction workers, with other Express Entry Stream draws targeting qualified aviation or agriculture workers.
The sixth draw, which invited candidates through the Rural Renewal Stream, issued the second-highest number of invitations (165) per draw to date in 2025—with the first highest being 190 under the same stream in Alberta’s first draw of the year.
For 2025, Alberta was allotted a total of 4,875 provincial nominations by the federal government, which were dispersed across their various streams and pathways. To compare: In 2024, they received a nomination allocation of 9,750, reflecting a 50% cut in nomination allocations.

Note: The AAIP’s available data pertaining to their total 2025 nomination allocation, remaining nomination spaces, EOIs in the pool, and applications still in need of processing are combined when it comes to their Dedicated Health Care Pathways and Express Entry Priority Sector Streams, respectively.
This means that figures pertaining to both the Express Entry and non-Express Entry Dedicated Health Care Pathways evident in the table above take both streams into account.
When it comes to Express Entry priority sector draws— agriculture, aviation, and construction—data specific to each particular sector is not available, but rather figures (such as the nomination spaces remaining and EOIs still in the pool reflect all three streams) reflect all three sectors/streams.
