As of April 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released updated processing times across various immigration categories. These updates reflect both improvements and delays, depending on the specific program and applicant location. Below is a comprehensive overview:

🇨🇦 Citizenship Applications
•        Citizenship Grant: Reduced to 8 months (from 9 months).
•        Citizenship Certificate: Now at 3 months (down from 4 months).
•        Renunciation of Citizenship: Improved to 8 months (previously 10 months).
•        Search of Citizenship Records: Slightly faster at 15 months (from 16 months).
Note: Applicants who submitted around March 17, 2025, are beginning to receive Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) notices.

Permanent Resident (PR) Cards
•        New PR Card: Processing time increased to 17 days (up from 15 days).
•        PR Card Renewals: Now at 9 days (improved from 10 days). 

Family Sponsorship
•        Spouse/Common-Law (Outside Canada, Non-Quebec): Stable at 11 months.
•        Spouse/Common-Law (Outside Canada, Quebec): Remains at 35 months.
•        Spouse/Common-Law (Inside Canada, Non-Quebec): Unchanged at 24 months.
•        Spouse/Common-Law (Inside Canada, Quebec): Increased to 36 months (from 35 months).
•        Parents/Grandparents PR (Non-Quebec): Extended to 36 months (up from 33 months).
•        Parents/Grandparents PR (Quebec): Consistent at 48 months.

Canadian Passport Processing
•        In-Canada (In-Person): 10 business days.
•        In-Canada (Mail): 20 business days.
•        Urgent Pick-Up: Available by the end of the next business day.
•        Express Pick-Up: Processed within 2 to 9 business days.
•        Mailed from Outside Canada: 20 business days.

Economic Class Permanent Residency
•        Canadian Experience Class (CEC): Remains at 5 months.
•        Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): Increased to 6 months (from 5 months).
•        Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) via Express Entry: Improved to 6 months (down from 7 months).
•        Non-Express Entry PNP: Stable at 21 months.
•        Quebec Skilled Workers (QSW): Consistent at 9 months.
•        Quebec Business Class: Extended to 72 months (from 71 months).
•        Federal Self-Employed: Now at 50 months (up from 49 months).
•        Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP): Increased to 11 months (from 10 months).
•        Start-Up Visa: Unchanged at 40 months

Temporary Resident Visas
Visitor Visas (Outside Canada):
•        India: 18 days (no change).
•        United States: 17 days (up by 1 day).
•        Nigeria: 109 days (improved by 6 days).
•        Pakistan: 22 days (increased by 2 days).
•        Philippines: 19 days (up by 3 days).

Visitor Visa (Inside Canada): 15 days (increased by 1 day).
Visitor Extension: 133 days (reduced by 7 days).

Super Visa (Parents/Grandparents):
•        India: 114 days (improved by 13 days).
•        United States: 171 days (reduced by 4 days).
•        Nigeria: 57 days (increased by 3 days).
•        Pakistan: 142 days (up by 4 days).
•        Philippines: 92 days (no change).

Study Permits
Outside Canada:
•        India: 9 weeks (improved by 1 week).
•        United States: 5 weeks (reduced by 1 week).
•        Nigeria: 6 weeks (no change).
•        Pakistan: 8 weeks (increased by 2 weeks).
•        Philippines: 7 weeks (up by 1 week). 
Inside Canada: 3 weeks (no change). 
Study Permit Extension: 163 days (increased by 30 days). 

Work Permits
Outside Canada:
•        India: 18 weeks (improved by 1 week).
•        United States: 81 weeks (no change).
•        Nigeria: 16 weeks (no change).
•        Pakistan: 8 weeks (reduced by 1 week).
•        Philippines: 5 weeks (no change).
Inside Canada: 201 days (increased by 44 days). 

Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP): 11 days (improved by 2 days). 
International Experience Canada (IEC): 4 weeks (increased by 1 week). 
Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA): Typically processed in 5 minutes; however, some cases may take up to 72 hours.
