Malaysia Extended visa-free entry for Indians until December 31, 2026.

Malaysia has extended its visa-free entry policy for Indian nationals until December 31, 2026. This initiative, part of Malaysia's Visa Liberalization Plan, aims to boost tourism and economic ties between the two nations.

Key Details of the Visa-Free Entry:
•        Duration: Indian travelers can stay in Malaysia for up to 30 days per visit without a visa.
•        Purpose: The visa exemption applies to tourism, business, social visits, and transit. It does not cover employment or educational purposes; travelers intending to work or study must obtain the appropriate visa beforehand.
•        Entry Requirements:
o        A passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
o        A confirmed return or onward flight ticket within 30 days of arrival.
o        Proof of sufficient funds to cover the stay, such as a bank statement or credit card.
o        A confirmed hotel booking with payment.
o        Completion of the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online at least 48 hours before traveling.
o        Final profiling by Malaysian Immigration upon arrival.
o        For minors, a birth certificate along with copies of parents’ passports.

This extension aligns with Malaysia's upcoming ASEAN chairmanship in 2025 and the preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, reflecting the country's commitment to enhancing its appeal as a tourist destination, particularly for Indian nationals.
The visa-free policy has already shown positive results. In 2024, Malaysia welcomed over 1 million Indian tourists, marking a 47% increase compared to 2019 and a 71.7% rise over the previous year.
