Over the weekend, a significant federal operation unfolded in Colorado Springs, where over 300 law enforcement officers from multiple agencies—including the DEA, ICE, ATF, and Homeland Security—raided an illegal after-hours nightclub.
This venue was reportedly frequented by members of the MS-13 gang and was under investigation for alleged drug trafficking, prostitution, and violent crimes.
The raid resulted in the detention of 114 individuals suspected of being in the U.S. illegally, including a dozen active-duty military personnel who were allegedly acting as armed security guards.
During the operation, authorities seized firearms and various drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and pink cocaine (also known as "tusi"). The dramatic nature of the raid was captured in video footage showing agents ordering patrons to exit the nightclub with their hands raised.
This raid is part of a broader initiative by the Trump administration to intensify immigration enforcement, particularly targeting criminal gangs. President Trump shared footage of the operation on his social media platform, characterizing the detainees as violent criminals.
However, these aggressive tactics have sparked legal challenges and public protests. For instance, a federal judge in Denver recently issued a temporary restraining order halting the deportation of Venezuelan ICE detainees, citing concerns over due process violations.
