The UK Adds New Secure English Language Tests (SELT) Requirement for Visa Applicants in April 2025

The UK government has confirmed its confidence in companies such as Pearson, Trinity College London, IELTS SELT Consortium, and PSI Services (UK) Ltd.—Skills for English, and has formally incorporated additional SELT forms under LANGUAGECERT. For candidates looking to demonstrate their English ability through safe, validated tests that meet immigration standards, this is an important improvement.

The previous LANGUAGECERT ESOL SELT 4-skills exam will be replaced in 2025, by:
•        LANGUAGECERT Academic SELT
•        LANGUAGECERT General SELT
Note that if you have previously taken the earlier test, don’t panic; the findings are still valid two years after they are given. ESOL SELT test vouchers are valid for a full year after purchase.
