Thunder Bay has unveiled its updated list of in-demand occupations for 2025 as part of the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot, aiming to attract skilled workers and address labor shortages in the region.
About the REDI Pilot
Launched in January 2025, the REDI pilot is an initiative by Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) to bolster economic immigration in communities outside the Greater Toronto Area. Thunder Bay has been allocated up to 200 nominations through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s (OINP) Employer Job Offer Stream, enabling local employers to support new or existing employees in obtaining permanent residency.
